A Wake Up Call To The Sluggard

This message is a wake up call for both the unsaved and Christians also.

1. The EXAMPLE That The Sluggard Is To Consider

"Go to the ant, thou sluggard..." (v6)

i) The Ways of the Ant
The ant has great initiative, discipline and determination. We can learn from this in our Christian life.

ii) The Work of the Ant
Just as the ant works hard, there is much work to be done for the Lord.

iii) The Wisdom of the Ant
It prepares for winter - great foresight - the unsaved need to seize their opportunity to be saved while in the summer time of life.

2. The EXHORTATION That The Sluggard Is To Hear

"How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? " (v10)

As Christians are we apathetic in the things of God ?

Sinner, who sits week after week in the House of God - you need to waken up - you are nearer to hell than ever before.

3. The EVIL That The Sluggard Is To Flee

Sloth will....

i) Assuredly bring people to poverty - the sluggard is easy prey
"So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth..." (v11a)

It will....

ii) Irresistibly bring people to poverty " and thy want as an armed man. " (v11b)

Flee from sloth !

Sinner, flee from the wrath to come !

The harvest is passing....the summer will end....

Be wise and come to Christ NOW !
