Get Real with God About Your Sin!

The cornerstone of this section in John's letter is v. 9: confession of sin brings continual cleansing. However, there are many things that hinder that confession. A walk in darkness and deception leads to no fellowship with God.We say we know Him but don't keep His commands. Sometimes we make the claim to sinlessness and deceive ourselves while labeling God a liar. We must have the work of Christ's advocacy to cleanse and propitiate sin. Confession brings cleansing (1.9) when we get real with God about our sin!
