Philippians 4:2-7
James 1

1. Being of the same mind (vv2-3)

• Belligerent argumentativeness is a divisive modus operandi
• Romans 16:17, 1 Corinthians 3:3
• Helping one another

2. Being joyful (v4)

• Joy in the Lord

3. Being gentle (v5)

• 2 Cor 10:1
• Meekness - power under control

4. Being prayerful rather than anxious (vv6-7)

• Prayer - puts things in perspective
• Trusting in the Lord

Conclusion
Being an effective member of the Church doesn't come outof our own efforts to be knowledgeable, religious thinkers who feel we've got the Christian life all worked out.
