Jesus Rejected By His Own Home Town

Both Jesus' words and His works attested to His person, that He is the Messiah, the eternal Son of God. Yet most of His own people did not receive Him as such. In the two texts before us we learn that the people of His own home town, Nazareth, would not receive Him. Familiarity with Jesus bred contempt for Him. Let us beware lest the same should be true of us who are blessed to be so familiar with the things of the Lord.
