Sermon 1: The fact of your inclination and the fact of a final solution

This sermon examines the universal problem of mankind’s urge to do what is contrary to God’s desires. It considers the issue of sensory experience, not only in so-called addictions, but in every person’s life. Considering the universality of this predicament, this sermon boldly declares God’s word to have the only, final, reliable solution to this damning phenomenon.

This is a series of 8 sermons preached at The Manger Care Centre in Benoni. It puts forward some biblical perspectives on addictions. In this series I leaned heavily on the work of the respected Dr. Edward T. Welch in his excellent book "Addictions—A Banquet in the Grave" (P&R).
