Prayer and the Word and then Silence

Amos receives four visions that speak of Israel's great need to repent and turn back to the Lord. Israel is saved by Amos' labors in praying for their salvation. But Israel continues to reject God by rejecting his Word to them. The result will be that Israel will face judgment and exile. And worst of all, Israel will only receive silence from the Lord. Because of their rejection of God, they will no longer hear his gracious words.
