BEGINNINGS: The Origin of All Human Reality and Experience. Expository Studies in the Early Chapters of the Book of Genesis

We need to begin at the beginning. To start properly in our biblical, theological, and spiritual thinking. we cannot begin carnally in either thought or action and then somehow end up with a spiritual end. We cannot begin with man, or with humanistic notions, and then somehow end up with God, or with theistic notions. In both cases our starting point has already determined the general nature of the outcome. Therefore, our starting point always determines the track we will take and the destination we will arrive at. In other words, our presuppositional starting point will necessarily and always ultimately determine the outcome of our reasoning process. The question then is one of from what source have we derived our presuppositions, or those basic and non-negotiable suppositions that form the basis of all that we think and believe, and eventually act upon. For Christians the answer is unambiguous: they must be derived from the special revelation of God in Scripture! This means that revelation alone must be ultimate in our minds, and it must be the starting point for all serious biblical, theological, and spiritual inquiry. This study begins where the Bible begins, at the Creation. The series will develop essential concepts of God and Man as they unfold progressively in the early, foundational chapters of the book of Genesis.

A course notebook for this series has been developed and is available, on request, at nominal cost.
