BSGCEPH# 4 God's good pleasure in election and predestination Eph 1 vs 4-5

334
  1. The matter of salvation is God's business and thus does not have its beginnings from when men and women showed up.

  2. God chose a people and that choosing/election had its foundation in the love of God and from eternity. IT was not a random choice and yet it was not grounded on the objects of His election.

  3. In choosing a people in Christ-God meant to glorify Himself as He demonstrated the riches of His grace and mercy.

  4. But grace and mercy could not be experienced by those whom God loved outside of them being sinners. Thus, sin was/ is a necessary piece to how God determined to introduce Himself to His people.

  5. His people would know Him through Christ and His work-because by Christ God displays the glory of His perfection. Christ alone is the mediator of all that God is and the cross is the center work of that revelation.

  6. Those whom God loved He completely propitiated/satisfied for their sins and that means the love of God is redemptive. Those that He loves He must needs save them-because His love for them is tied to Him showing them His grace and mercy. Thus, the non-elect are not objects of God's love-they are vessels appointed for dishonor and prepared for destruction.

  7. And many will object to God's election and predestination, but God is honored in them because that is what glorifies His name. Many things were spoken of and expounded and these are not long messages to fill in time. There are many wonderful nuggets to glean and they are free. May God give you the ears to hear His gospel.
