Samson: Imperfect Instrument

In Judges we see God using Samson as an imperfect instrument in His hand.

I. Exposition:

1. The aftermath of the wedding disaster (vv. 1-8).

2. The Philistines strike back (vv. 9-17).

3. A thirsty cry (vv. 18-20).

II. Spiritual themes/lessons:

1. A warning against the downward spiral of revenge and retaliation (see vv. 7, 10, 11).

2. A warning against those who become too comfortable with bondage (see v. 11).

3. A perfect God makes use of imperfect instruments to accomplish His will.
