A Word for the Discontent

Previously the remnant of Israel were discouraged; now they are discontent. They were doing what God said to do yet they did not see what God said He would do in return. They wondered if God had gone back on His word. Their hearts were focused on the favor and blessings of God instead of on the glory of God. They had misplaced motivation.
God reminds them that they surrendered their hands and not their hearts to the work. Even though He had not yet blessed them as promised He did still provide for them, even in their discontent. God remains faithful even when we are faithless.
In the end, God does bless upon their repentance and the turning of their hearts back toward Him and His glory.
