Institution of Marriage
Series Ephesians
In the early 21st century here in America, and in the West more broadly, we find ourselves in the grip of a death match over the definition of marriage. While radical revolutionaries want to destroy marriage as we know it, Christians have had a hard time finding their voice in terms defending the Biblical position, and even worse, seem to have an even more difficult time staying married once they take their vows. In this extended treatment of the ethics of marriage Paul sets forth a number of principles which help account for roles and relationships in marriage and provides Christians with standards for how to live peaceably as husbands and wives. This particular message takes a brief step into the exposition of Paul's ethical exhortations here in Ephesians 5 and then places them within the broader framework of Scripture.
