The family background and childhood of Jonathan Edwards is a study in the workings of God's providence and mercy. From the tragic and untimely death of his great great grandfather in London in 1625 to the preservation of his grandfather in the face of his wife's infidelity and ultimate divorce, Jonathan Edwards had his life marked out by the sovereign purpose of God.
