Why did God give the Ten Commandments?

This message deals in part with the purpose of the law. The law was given to show man his sin and not to save him. The Ten Commandments only has power to condemn and not to save. However, man must stand at the foot of Sinai for condemnation before he comes to Calvary for salvation. Herein lies the relation of law and grace.

The purpose of the law.

1. To reveal and condemn man's sin.
2. To reveal a righteous standard of acceptance.
   3)To lead a man to Christ.
   4)To point us to holy living.
