Colossians 1:15-17: Christ, the Firstborn Over All Creation

Continuing in the hymn of the incomparable Christ found in Colossians 1:15-20, we see that not only is the Lord Jesus Christ the very image of God who makes the invisible God visible, but He is also our Creator.

In verses 15-17, then, we see that Christ is the Firstborn over all creation. He is the Creator of all things and all things are made for His glory. And He is the Sustainer of all things--the One who not only made everything but continues to hold it all together.
