1 Peter 1 -Part57 - Preparation for Suffering 57

As the tide turns against believers in this nation, it is good to remind ourselves of what is expected of us and what has been provided for us, so we may be prepared if and when we come under intensified persecution for Him. This is a study of the need to gird up the loins of our minds in preparation for suffering for our Lord. The lesson is that we are to be prepared in our minds for suffering for Him and our confidence is not to be in the things of this life but in the sure things of our hope in all His promises to us when He comes back for His body the church. Peter calls us to holiness in all our behavior. Here we look at the holiness of God Himself. His infinite holiness must be known if we are to understand all that flows out of that holiness. The law, God’s judgments, the cross and His grace and His love poured out on those who are His, all have their foundation in His holiness. The more we understand the reality of this holiness the more we will rejoice in what our Savior has accomplished for us! Therefore we are to conduct ourselves in the fear that this holiness calls for. Here we look at specific things that the word tells us to fear.
