The Baptist divines transition to discuss covenant graces, which focuses on man's acts. The elect are enabled to believe to the saving of their souls by the work of the Spirit. What or whom the elect believe in is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the object of our faith and it is in Him alone that one may find everlasting life. We don't have faith in ourselves or in others. Without faith in him, a sinner will not be saved.
