The Husbandman - 2Timothy 2:6

The Christian is like a soldier(Ephesians 6: 10,11); an athlete (Hebrews 12: 1,2); and also an agricultural labourer.

i) The Farmer
God is the husbandman, Christians are labourers together with Christ.
ii) The Fatigue
This is hard work, perfectly exemplified by the Saviour.
iii) The Fruits
lives transformed; his own faith strengthened; his hope quickened; his love deepened; and the flame of his gift enlivened.

We must be soaring like an eagle, fighting like a soldier, running like an athlete and digging like a farmer. All without giving up. (Galatians 6: 7-9)
