Circumcision and Baptism - The Foreshadows and Aftershadows of the Lord Jesus.

In the whole old and new testament we believe as reformed people there is only one covenant, only one covenant of grace.

The old testament and the new testament are one covenant, but there is a difference.

We can say that the old testaments are the foreshadows of the body to come, the Lord Jesus. One of the foreshadows in the old testament is the ceremony, or the sign and seal of the covenant, circumcision, and it waited for the circumcision of Christ to fill it, or fulfill it. Christ is circumcised, and He is baptised. He fills the forshadow, and we will see He fills also the aftershadow by baptism, for He is the body.
