Triumph and Tragedy

Jehu was commissioned by God to take vengeance on the House of Ahab, and he began well. Though he allowed his rather cruel sense of humour to lead him into deceptive behaviour in destroying the worshippers of Baal, he stamped out there false worship. But he fell short as he did not rule in righteousness but followed the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat. Christ, on the other hand, will return as the perfect judge and reign as the perfect king.
