A Righteousness Not of My Own

In Philippians 3:9, Paul begins explaining what it means to lose all in order to gain Christ. It is knowing Christ as Lord and God, which is the fullness of salvation. Paul has experienced true justification before God as he abandoned trust in his own failed righteousness that he might receive the gift of Christ's righteousness. This righteousness is granted by virtue of our union with Christ, received by trusting in the One who came to save His people from their sins.
