War Footing

It is no accident that when the church fathers delineated the seven deadly sins they also worked out seven cardinal virtues to use as weapons against those sins. They were employing the same strategy that Paul is using in this passage…to resist by cultivating virtues. We are often distracted by the surface issues of what is right or wrong culturally in society, when the real issue is the war that is taking place in our hearts.
