Providence and Sin - #2

24

1689 Baptist Confession of Faith – Chapter 5 – Divine Providence

Paragraph 4 – Providence and Sin

A proper, biblical understanding of God's providence and the presence of sin should cause us to:

(1st) More highly value and appreciate God's grace and goodness to us and to others – Luke 15:11-24 – Prodigal Son.

(2nd) Learn to trust God to work through the evil intentions and actions of others, and turn it around for your eternal benefit and His purpose (Genesis 50:19-21). "But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good…”

(3rd) Learn to rejoice in the Lord when we go through ‘dark providences' – God has a reason for everything that comes into your life. (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)
