The Healthy Fear of the Lord

God's people are to have a healthy and reverential fear of the Lord. Not a fear of eternal condemnation and punishment (Rom 8:1, I John 4:18) but rather the reverential fear (Prov 1:7, 9:10) of a loving father who punishes his children in this lifetime for their willful disobedience (Heb 10:26-31, 12:6-29).
