Sanctified: Abstain & Restrain

As a word of warning, though not at all graphic, today's subject matter is of a sexually sensitive nature. Listeners should use their discretion while listening with young children. Today Pastor Bill Bradshaw discusses Paul's exhortation to the Thessalonian church that if they desire to be sanctified by God that they must remain sexually pure. This is the first thing that the apostle identified. It was important! Paul at the time was speaking to a Greek/Roman culture that knew no bounds and lacked any hint of restraint in regards to fulfilling the desires of their flesh. Why is abstinence and restraint important to a culture? Can you name a culture that has ever ascended in it's quality of life while living without sexual boundaries? What sort of love does the world embrace as having value and what does God desire for us? Listen and learn that in the midst of God setting boundaries on this area of our lives He gives us freedom from the bondage of sexual immorality. Listen and be encouraged to righteousness and the sanctifying power of God. God bless you today!
