I. Our rebellion against God displayed - 6a: Why is it necessary for Jesus Christ to die for our sins? The metaphor of sheep shows us the depth of our depravity.
What is the sure evidence of this? We have turned away from God's way.
II. Our redemption through Christ described - 6b: the heart of the Gospel: a Just God must punish sin and yet, He is a loving God. Jehovah God caused our sin to land on Christ.

1. about Jesus' willing submission to His Father.
2. about the complete satisfaction that Christ has rendered to God on our behalf.
3. about what the salvation of Christ is all about: substitution: Isaiah 53:3; 1 Corinthians 15:3
