Our Comfort in Christ's Death

Lord's Day 16 covers an expansive topic. The topic is Christ's continual suffering with the view towards His death for our redemption. In this light, we deal with the cross and Christ's atoning suffering for us when we ask 'Why was it necessary for Jesus to die'? The answer is that this was the satisfaction and payment for our sins. Christ's suffering was atoning for us. His suffering is different than ours. Christ's was for our salvation and freedom from the power of sin. Praise be to God!
