Rebellions Against God - Part 36 - False Prophet - Flattering People

This is a continuing study of the marks or characteristics of the false teachers and false prophets that attempt to deceive and lead the church astray. Here we look at the prophecy of Enoch made in the seventh generation on the earth concerning the return of Christ and the coming judgment on all the ungodly and part of that judgment will be against those who use flattery in their evil designs. The flesh is deceitful above all else and therefore is more than ready to receive flattery. The flatterer speaks words that exalt a person in his own estimation or confirm his false and high opinion of himself. A less known form of flattery is prevalent today and is the raising of a person’s false hopes by representations that are not well founded. Common ones used today are false words that promise health and healing to the desperately ill or the promise of riches or worldly success to those who follow a certain teacher or preacher.
