PURPOSE:
"That saved a wretch like me."
a. Saved (past tense), Eph 2:1-9
b. Wretch like me (present tense), Rom 7:9-25
Therefore,
- We REJOICE in gospel grace in its power to save
- We RESPOND soberly to temptation knowing sin crouches at the door
- We RECOGNIZE, if Adam, being made perfect initially, has fallen in sin, we must take heed (1 Cor 10:12)
- We REGARD humble submission to Christ in, by & through the gospel is of utmost importance for daily living, for the gospel of Christ is the basis for any good works to come forth (Jas 4:7-10)
