Introduction to Philemon

What is commonly referred to as the "book" of Philemon is unique having been written as a personal letter by the apostle Paul to a man named Philemon. Philemon had become a believer under Paul's ministry of the Gospel. Paul was writing to Philemon from prison on behalf of a man who had been a former slave of Philemon, and while a runaway slave had been born again having believed the gospel he had heard from Paul. Included in this introductory study is an overview of what the Bible says about slaves and slavery.
