The encouragement of the finish line

11

Every child of God is looking forward to that day we meet Jesus in the air. And it is coming. Our Lord wants us to understand this and to take comfort from it; because this life is hard and full of trouble and trials. This is a race that must be run and He wants us to know who exactly the contestants are. It is those who have accepted Jesus as their sole Lord and savior. The Father has with great carefulness laid out for them a course to run that will lead them to the finish line. And when the time comes for us to meet Jesus at the finish line the call will go forward. The shout or command will be given for us to come home; the archangel will be rejoicing at Christ's victory and the trumpet will sound so loud the dead will rise! And Jesus Himself, not some substitute, will be there to welcome us His ambassador's home. The change that must take place for our bodies to be made perfect will take place there at the crossing. And once we are a true contestant of that race nothing will disqualify us from crossing over. For that matter nothing will disqualify after the race is run either.
