63 Prophecy Against Egypt Pt. II

God now tells Ezekiel that he is to write that At the end of forty years the Egyptian’s dispersion would end. God says that He will bring them to the land of Pathros which is the land of their birth. Pathros is the Hebrew form of the Egyptian name for Upper Egypt. Which is in the south. Lower Egypt is the area of the Nile Delta which flows into the Mediterranean Sea. from just S of Memphis to the first cataract at Syene, to which some of the exiled Israelites fled (Isaiah 11:11; Jeremiah 44:1, 15; Ezekiel 30:14). According to our passage here “the land of Pathros” was the original home (the land of their birth) of the Egyptians (Genesis 10:14; 1 Chronicles 1:12, “Pathrusim”). So on their return after the forty year scattering they will again assemble but will be a nation of no importance to the world. They will be like a third world nation with no influence.
