The Faithful God
Series Series in Jeremiah (2014-2017)
61
Aim: To love and fear the God who is true to His promises.
Doctrine: The faithful God leads His church through ''thick and thin.'' Sin brings trouble and mercy ushers in blessing to the people of God.
Exegesis: The ways God shows His faithfulness: by judging unrepented-of sin (vv. 26-35), granting remarkable, undeserved favor (vv. 36-41), and resurrecting souls (and societies) from death, to life (vv. 42-44).
Further application: Godly responses to divine faithfulness: to know that God's verity is both good and ''bad'' news, and to seek immediate reconciliation with the faithful God, through Christ.
Key verses: vv. 26-27 ''The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: 'Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?' ''
