Defeatism in the Face of Grace or the Final Rebellion

One of our favorite messages. This sermon inspired a wonderful ministry in Russia to those who had rejected Christianity and were unhappily chasing faddish religions. These truths awoke them to repentence. There is a rebellion in defeatism. It is found in those who hope in the hopeless before the true hope of God. Individuals turn every way but into the way of life and before the gate of grace they say, "What is the use." It is a rebellion. It is a stubborn refusal to take God's victory and a willfull clinging to our own defeats even if they bring us into complete ruin. Inspired by Charles Spurgeon's message on Isaiah 57:10.
