How God Desires to be Worshipped

True worship of God flows from a love for God that is manifested in obedience to His Word; show God your heart in your life and in your worship!

1. It is a good idea to think about what you do in worship (v. 1-3)

• 4th month = the wall of Jerusalem was breached (Jeremiah 39:2)
• 5th month = destruction of the temple (2 Kings 25:8)
• 7th month = murder of Gedaliah, the governor left by Nebuchadnezzar and the flight to Egypt (2 Kings 25:25)
• 10th month = beginning of Nebuchadnezzar's siege of Jerusalem (Jeremiah 39:1)

2. True worship is about what God wants – not about what you want (v. 4-6)

3. People that love God listen to and obey God (v. 7-10)

4. Do not go the way of the formalist – serve God from a heart that loves Him (v. 11-14)
