The Sign of God's Salvation

Even though King Ahaz of Judea was given the opportunity to trust in Yahweh to protect his nation, he chose instead to trust in worldly power. This sign of a virgin who who bear a son named Immanuel is fulfilled in the birth of Messiah, as Matthew interprets this in his gospel. In the face of our culture's growing rejection of Christianity and in the hardships and trials of life, we should trust in the sign - Messiah who has come - and not succumb to worldly influences as Ahaz did.
