It's Not Enough to Ask Good Questions

  1. We may ask good questions : King Herod asked a very good question, in that he asked where the promised King of the Jews would be born. However his interest was lacking sincerity. If we are to find the Christ of Christmas then any questions we may ask about Him must be of serious intent, questions that will ultimately lead us to Him.

  2. It is right to be pre-occupied about Jesus Christ : Although our day and generation shows little desire to know the real Jesus, we may still rightfully ask serious questions about Him. As we ask, we can learn of one who showed great love and compassion, who did everything well, and we will learn of Him who yielded up His life for sinners like you and me.

  3. It's important to know the right answers : Salvation is for today, and the answers to our questions are personal. We must ask real questions, questions that apply to our souls; questions that need answering:

  • Is Christ born in me?
  • Am I one of His people?
  • Do I know Him today?
  • Have I discovered His forgiveness and grace?

Like Herod you may want to know where Jesus was born, you may also want to discover where He died, but more importantly you need to learn the answer to why he died!

Yes, ask your questions, but come to the right answers:

  • Is He your Saviour?
  • Is He ruler over you?
  • Is His law your law?

Remember, answers need to be personal. The answers we come to will determine where we spend eternity - Heaven, or Hell.

You may know the Christ of the here and now. Close with Him, for to have Him is to have everything.
