Consolation

We looked at the two ceremonies mentioned in our passage - circumcision and purification. Both of these had to be observed and we saw the necessity of them. We saw how the Lord Jesus was made under the law - not above the law. He would be our representative head. He was given the name Jesus - he would save his people from their sins!
