The Promise of Ultimate Joy

616

This is the promise of ultimate joy, ultimately and intimately. In other words it will happen and it will happen for us personally. We can taste of the promise right now, although heaven will be far beyond anything we can know here on earth (Psalm 16:11). Still, here we can know the promise is for us, and we can take an impossible, inexpressible joy, and we can spread it around. We can share in the promise of ultimate joy together, everyone can have it. We have something money can’t buy, poverty can’t lose, no one can steal, and we can’t mess up. Our ultimate joy is a promise from God which we can see in the person of Jesus.

Believe the promise. You may not see it right now, you may not feel it too often, but it is going to happen, it is a promise from God, who always keeps His promises (1 Peter 1:8-9).

Mary gave God the glory. That is what God sought then and seeks today. In this season where we celebrate the Incarnation, let us remember to give God the glory, not just in word, but in deed and in truth. Let’s preserve, proclaim, and protect the Gospel message. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in the person and work of Jesus Christ alone. Let’s give God the glory by being satisfied with and rejoicing in the greatest gift we could ever receive. Joy loves company, so join the company, believe the promise, because Jesus IS joy.
