For Unto Us A Child Is Born

The two greatest OT prophecies regarding the birth of Christ are both found in the book of Isaiah.

Isaiah 7:14,
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel”.

Isaiah 9:6-7,
(6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
(7) Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

PROMISE OF A SON.
Hebrews 10:5; John 19:28; Hebrews 4:15.

PROMISE OF A KING.
Matthew 2:2-6; Luke 1:32-33; Zechariah 14:9.

PROMISE OF THE MIGHTY GOD.
Philippians 2:6-7; Matthew 6:33; Acts 1:7-8.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Every year around Christmas time, the world is reminded of this great Christmas gift.
