How to be Pure

What does it mean to be pure? When the Pharisees challenge Jesus over the 'unwashed hands' of his disciples, Jesus demonstrates that real purity starts with the heart. The problem is that no one's heart is pure by the standard that Jesus lays out. The solution to this comes throughout Mark's gospel, as Jesus is shown to be the source of all purity, the only one able to cleanse our defiled hearts.
