The Worthy Receiving of the Lord's Supper

Being worthy of the Lord's supper is not a matter or merit or holiness. But there are five requirements of being worthy to partake: understanding, faith, repentance, love, & obedience. Hodge equated this with a profession of faith. When these are lacking suspension from the supper is appropriate. We should not be satisfied with these, but seek our growth in these graces.
