The Fiery Serpent

Jesus Christ lets us know in the book of John that the Son of Man must be lifted up like the serpent in the wilderness. The children of Israel murmured against God, and were disatisfied with the situation they were in. The children of Israel recoiled and ran from the fiery serpents but it was the image of the fiery serpent that was able to give them life. Today we are to lift Christ Jesus up to a world that when they see that image they are a lot like the children of Israel, they recoil and run away from the very thing that will save them.
