Preservation Established, Perseverance Exhorted
96
One of the differences between "Calvinists" and Primitive Baptists is found in the "P" of the TULIP acronym. Calvinists define this as "perseverance" by which they intend that the regenerate will maintain some requisite degree of obedience and faithfulness to God during their natural lives. Primitive Baptists define it as "preservation" which speaks of the absolute efficacy of Christ's work on behalf of his covenant people. That is a key distinction and this sermon explores that subject.
