Jesus Calls Us Brothers

We begin with this phrase "He is not ashamed to call them brethren..." Now that statement is meant I think to be a surprise... it is meant to be a matter to consider with wonder or amazement. It is clear that the author is referring to the Lord Jesus and the brethren are those who have received His salvation. But the first question ought to be, "Why should He be ashamed?"
