Honor Your Mother and Father!

The fifth commandment, as the other nine, has its origin in Creation. It's position in the middle of the Ten, serves as a transition between our duty to God and to our fellow man. Honoring our parents is spoken of throughout the Scriptural record and its importance cannot be understated. Disrespect for Mother and/or Father was considered a capital offense under the Old Covenant administration, which serves to instruct us how serious God considers our attentiveness to its performance.
