Baptism and the Means of Grace

Having administered the sacrament of covenant baptism this morning, the subject of the sermon was Baptism and the means of grace. While we should never trust in the use of God's appointed means, we may not expect the fulfillment of God's promises apart from the diligent use of His appointed means, and yet the Lord has promised to bring to pas all his Holy Word through the use of means, He Himself making them effectual to their desired ends.
