Profiting from the Word

Last week we looked at what it means to be a Christian. God has done a work by the Spirit of God in the heart of man and you are no longer the same. You are a new creation from the inside out. Once that great change has been done by God, you are to now walk worthy of your calling, in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Yet what help do we get to walk this walk? We find ourselves in practice coming short of how we want to live. Where do we go to get help. It is a great and difficult calling, impossible on our own. So we must look to God and to His ways. Paul does not leave us helpless, but points to a source for strength and wisdom. Let’s look at what Paul commands Timothy to do.
