Son of David, Son of Abraham

As with us today, the genealogies in the Bible tell us something about a person's identity, and the outworking of God's promises in and through them. Matthew chapter 1 presents us with Jesus Christ, the Son of David and Son of Abraham, thus declaring Him to be the fulfilment of the covenant made with these men, and the one who brings us in to participate in that covenant.
