The Book of Nature can be likened to a picture book with added comment.

The Book of Scripture is like a text book with pages of print relieved by word-pictures. The first book is stunning, the second book is searching. The first shows me the stars, the second shows me my sins.

Volume One invites me to attend a theater of splendor and wonder which leaves the audience in awe. But whilst many see glory, the Psalmist looks further and sees 'the Glory of God'

Volume Two shifts our attention from the light of the sun to the light of the Scripture and whilst the former sheds its beams upon my home, the latter sheds its beams on my heart. The former book will show me the dominion of the King, the latter shows me the door that leads into the presence of the King.
