The Way God Spoke and How He Speaks Now

The writer of Hebrews begins with dramatic fashion, painting a picture of God's revelation throughout the ages. In the old covenant, God spoke over centuries and through ordained prophets. Those prophets were charged with faithfully proclaiming God's Word and did so by many means. Sometimes this message was communicated by direct commands. Sometimes the message was communicated in dreams and visions. And at other times, the prophets were told to demonstrate through sign acts God's message. However, in the last days (i.e. the church age) the fullness of God's revelation has been communicated by one prophet, at one time, and by one means. That was all accomplished in God sending His final revelation, Jesus Christ.
